Flipping 'eck, a 10 Mega pixel camera phone!
http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/09/l...l-cameraphone/
Ok, so 10mp may be serious overkill for a camera phone. But the most interesting thing, which Engadget and it's readers failed to really mention, is the proper optics, zoom and i'm guessing a proper shutter too. I have said it before and i will say it again, you can have as many mega pixels as you want but you will never get a really decent photo without a proper mechanical shutter and optics. I would settle for around 4MP, but proper optics I want

and the SIZE of the pixels is of fundamental importance
which is why a 4MP or 5MP nikon DSLR can beat a 8MP Sony in resolution that phone is all about the megapixel myth. |

I would think the shutter speed will be pretty slow as well wouldn't it? Man you gona have to have a steady hand to get any decent pictures with that MP

small pixels will create more noise, but if you aint got good optics to start with theres no point in having anything at all to record the pic.
all in all agreed with you both

10mega pixels is way overkill imo.
also what the display screen res, damn well better be QVGA! built in 802.11b/g/n? 4megapixels with nice optics would be great, also would like a decent flash, but luckily that new technology might make that possible
