    I've got SE w810i

I've gone for a w810i on t-mob offer, I never used any of old models so it's my first midrange SE phone. I can finally see what all the hoo-haa has been about for past 12 months.

So where are the rest of SE W810i users on the forum... what has your experience been like so far.. any small gripes with handset etc... have you fixed any problem that you had.. sharing is caring.

Try pushing the phone case above the battery door down a bit first. Then try pushing down on the battery cover and sliding it free. That's how I had to do it anyway.

My email functions work, although I couldn't for the life of me get it to at first.

I'm on O2, so settings may be different for you, but I found that I had to connect through "O2 Mobileweb" as opposed to the usual "O2 GPRS" or "O2 GSM" connections.

This is regardless of the fact that either setting works fine for normal Internet browsing...it's just when it comes to Email retrieval that it would throw wobblies before.

i've got one too. i can't get email to work myself. other problems are the flash light starts flashing after about 10 secs instead of staying constant and the shuffle function on the walkman bit is rubbish, it repeats songs 3-4 at a time and doesnt use much of the playlist. very nice otherwise tho

Dude i have tried on numerous attempts and even took it local mobile phone shop who couldn't make it budge. They had a w810i in stock and took lid off with ease. He told me mine is stuck and that I need a replacement handset.

Could it be the battery? Taking it off was easy.. only happened once I placed battery inside and put lid over it for charging.

I got mine today too and so far I am loving it. I've flashed it with generic firmware to get rid of all the Orange branding. Will take a bit of getting used to compared to my Nokia. The headphones it comes with are excellent though.

    Cheers,
    Stephen

Don't know, the amount of email I get, the GPRS bill would be extortionate if I setup the email feature God I wish I was still working for Orange, where I wasn't paying for GPRS or SMS.

Supplied headphones are pretty good though and it is easy to flash the firmware to get rid of any network branding.
