I'm halfway through the 2nd year of my contract, and i want out

I chose to upgrade at the end of the first year, which was a mistake, now i'm stuck with a crap contract. £26 a month for 100mins, 100txts which is pretty crap.

But i dont think i've got any choice? This contract finishes in November, and i want to keep my number.

    Do I have any options?

    who are you with?

I know O2 will let you chang your tarrif after 6 months of the contract. They don't publicise this very much, but you can do it. WOuld be surprised if other netowrks didn't allow this too

if your paying by direct debit, you could always just block it.... im sure that would end your contract pritty quick

Just stopping your direct debit is not a good idea. Being in a contract means you are legally obliged to fulfill it unless the other party releases you from it

Yeah, i can change my tariff, but thats not much use to me, because simply dont have any good value tariffs available for me to change to

I *could* downgrade to the lowest contract, £9 a month i think, then start a new better value contract elsewhere, but i want to keep my number so its no good.

I mean, my mate is paying £35 a month and gets £180 worth of credit for it, so he has 900mins anytime or 1000s of texts. For just £10 more than me, its ridiculous. Not to mention my bill usually hits £35 anyway because the minutes and texts arent enough

i'm sure i see O2 do a tariff for £35 that gives 1000 mins + 150 txts every month. I think it in the sun paper yesterday.

    there are loop holes....

and from what i have heard, they may send you letters, but will very rarely take you to court... its just not worth the hastle, money, or bad publicity for companies

Thats probably for new customers only, they dont give that kind of good deal to existing customers, they dont allow current customers to change their tariff to that

My mate stopped paying his line rental & T-Mobile must have sold the debt to a debt recovery, as he had the bailiffs come round and eventually took his whole media system & hi fi for the payment. lost lots more than he would have if he had just paid the line rental.

So they do get there money. whether they allwrk like that i dont know?

250 minutes anytime X network + some texts (not a texter so can't remember how many) for £9 /month?

'phone them up, complain & explain that you can get a better deal elsewhere.
