    Help with Security code...

Righty.. I KNOW this sounds dodgy, but I've just lent my old phone to me brother... now I put a security code in it, and I can't remember what it was.. is there any way to get round it? tis a Nokia 6020.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, preferably by PM as I don't want it shouting out all over t'internet how to break into a phone if thats ok

Get it wrong enough times, then it'll ask you for a puk code, ring up the operater you were with when you had the phone, and ask them for it. Then you get to set a new security code and alls well

No.. you got the wrong one matey it's the PIN that locks the sim card up if you get it wrong and need the PUK code for. the Security code is purely the handset, nowt to do with the sim unfortunately.

nope, there is also a PUK2 code - which covers exactly that - I locked myself out of my old Nokia by getting the security code wrong

Hmmm, I didn't think so, and looking at the web...
'the PUK2 is what is asked when you have blocked your PIN2, PIN2 is only used for fixed dialling etc...
Your operator should know your PUK2 to unblock it'
I think there are programs that will allow you to reset your phone if you connect it to the PC. I used to have one (years and years ago) but this would also mean you'd have to have the relevant cable...I think some stores that unlock your phone to use other networks can offer this service, although don't quote me on this...

There's the PIN code, and the PIN2 code, which are bound to the sim card, and there's the Security Code, wich is all to do with the actual handset, and nowt to do with the sim card. I'v esorted it now tho - taken it to the local unlocking shop and got them to do it...

Did you see how they did it, i.e. what software they used etc?
