    My magic SIM card!

As i am self employed, i needed a business line. I plan to get a second business line with my existing T-Mobile one. However, as a tempory measure, i got one of the free O2 SIM's that they give away from time to time for use in an spare handset i had.

When i got it i put £10 on it. I have been using a massive amount (hours and hours of calls) over the last 2-3 months, but my credit has never gone down. Not a penny

So whats the worst that could happen? Could they try and bill me for the uncharged time? (maybe I should i sell it on ebay!) Anyone else ever had this happen, or heard of it?

Hmmm....interesting. I've got a few of those O2 sims lying around. I wonder whether it's only for a few number ranges. Any chance you can share the first five digits?

Btw, are you sure you haven't got one which has unlimited calls during certain hours?

One of my daughters was saying something about that but she already gets a load of freebies off O2 but this week she reckons she`s used over a hundred quids worth and she could likely treblle that knowing her.

Ah ic. I thought you meant that they charged you for all the free calls/texts you made previously.

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of months ago, but it was the other way round, I had £2 on the sim, but it said I had no credit left. Not so good!

    Thanks,
    Tom

cool Maybe O2 are updating a system somewhere...or it could just be O2 doing what they do best - messing up at least this time it's att heir expense eh.

I remember when PAYG mobiles started to make it big (around when i first got one) you could so easily get free calls..lots of the networks had really insecure ways of storing how much credit was on your phone - it was all done locally at first, meaning that if you knew what to do you had unlimited free calls. All could be done via the phones engineer menus normally

I wonder if you got one of those sims that o2 tried to recall. I had an email a while back from them saying about a faulty batch of sims. Iwonder if that is what the fault was

I had Orange contract mess up couple years back, instead of taking the line rental every month. They was crediting my account with the amount they should've been charging me. I did ring them several times and tell them what thwey were doing. Each time they just said thanks, we'll look into it. At the end of the 12 months when i wanted to cancel, my account was like £180.00 in credit. I didn't think for one minute that i was going to get the money. & i had been putting the money aside, for when they wanted their money back...

NOPE, within 2 weeks there's a cheque from orange for £180.00. Aint heard nothing else from them.

    Not that i minded.

"God is as real as I am,” the old man said.
I was relieved since I knew Santa wouldn’t lie to me ...
