    Orange SPV M600

    All,

I'm looking for a unit that can handle all my contacts and email. This runs Windows Mobile OS 5 and will sync my laptop and desktop.

Does anyone know what this mobile is like and whats it like when it comes to sync'ing?

The Sony P990i looks good, but it doesnt run Windows.

If you know of any other phones then it would be good to hear.

    Cheers

    Darren

EDIT this mobile has the added bonus of having Sat Nav!!! Does anyone know of the Sony P990i will have that feature?

Yes, it will with a GPS receivier and the appropriate software.

It will also sync your contacts, calender and e-mail (MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, Apple iSync) just fine.

I'd highly recommend the m600 - it's a huge leap forward for pda phones over what was out 2 years ago and it's only the size of a phone..

I was just looking at that phone over the past few days and was seriously thinking about buying it but the lack of camera and the seemingly fiddly keys put me off.

Persoanlly i would go for a windows mobile device, simply for the amount of quality ('proper') software being developed for it.

I don't think so. iSync is just contacts and calender, as far as I know.

I'm seriously considering the Orange SPV M600 as my next upgrade. Apparently, it's still out of stock (as an upgrade).

The M600 isa great phone. However I just got rid of my M500 because you needed to use two hands to text people I have now got the C600 which has everything the M500 did but in a small case and with buttons.

Last night I sold my M500 for £99.00 on ebay with it being six months old and not having a stylus. At least they keep value

The SPV M600 does have a 1.3Mp camera on it.

It is a corking good phone, esp since it can reconise my hand writing

    TomTom works great on it

Although the software does learn your handwriting my M500 had major problems understanding me

I called Orange today and spoke to their disconnections department. My 12-month contract runs out in around 3 weeks time. They are offering me the SPV M600 as a free upgrade if I sign up to a new 18-month contract or for £29.99 if I sign up to a 12-month contract.

I'm not keen on 18-month contracts and they said that if I call again in 3 weeks they'll probably offer me the phone for free on a 12-month contract.

They offered it to me for £99. I spend £30 per month on my contract so that might be why i have to pay £99. If you dont mind me asking....how much do you spend a month on your contract?

In the first 8 months I averaged around £70 per month, I then switched to a cheap tariff (the now defunct Talk 60) and now my monthly average is around £40. This is all international text messaging and roaming. I don't use up any of my 60 minutes!

I have a separate work phone (fully expensed) but still maintain a private phone for evenings, weekends and when i'm travelling on business/holiday.

I spend about £40 a month with Orange. Go for the C600 not the M500 you won't be disapointed.
