| it could be, but the release date for the tytn is end of july, so probably not. That may however be the new smartphone Athlon 64 X2 3800+ on EP-9NDA3+ 1GB Crucial Ballistix + 1GB Generic Pap PC3200 Gainward 6800GT Golden Sample (438/1170) Soundblaster Live Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro w/ Gigaworks S750 speakers. | HTC TyTN at Vodafone Hi guys I'm waiting on this phone before I take advantage of an upgrade at Vodafone. Last week I spoke to someone called Luke at customer retentions. He said a device called the HTC Mercury would be released on the 10th of July. Today I called and spoke to someone called Emma. She acknowledged what Luke had said and added that she had just seen an update which put the date back to the 13th July. They claim the device will be about the same price as the Qtek 9100. Interestingly she told me the internal name is the Vodafone v1605 'Contract Mercury'. I think this is genuine. I would be at all surprised to see it slip and slip towards the end of July - but at least it seems Vodafone are going to be stocking it and we will see it soon. Cheers Paul. |

| Oh ... I'm sure you know .... but Mercury was the original codename HTC used for the platform HTC Hermes was based on - which is what was going to be the Qtek 9600 and is now known to be the HTC TyTN. I think this must be the same phone then :-) |

| Hmmm im not sure, yes it probably was the codename for the product but I was quoted the price for the V1640 @ £300 then £297.46(to the pence exact rep words) then it went to £250 this is for a very cheap contract I asked how much the v1605 would be and was told £150 now i wasnt given a quote for the Qtek 9100 because it was out of stock. Well I gave Vodafone a call im also cancelling my contract and was told the device (v1605) will now be in 31st July. Oh and according to Google "(Roman mythology) messenger of Jupiter and god of commerce; counterpart of Greek Hermes" Not sure if it is going to be the TyTN as O2 does **EDITED** NOT ***EDITED** seem to have any devices coming out in the next few months... | Processed the upgrade Friday .... they have 20 or so instock. Mine will be arriving at my house on Monday. It is the TyTN and it is known as the v1605. It's all silver (not the dual tone) like the Expansys one but with the red Vodafone name at the bottom and the red symbol at the top. All excited. Paul. |
