k750i vs k800i, worth the extra?

ive got a smacked up k700i that i really liked until the joystick started playing up

now im getting a new contract but im going to sell the phone on ebay and buy a simfree sony ericsson one to replace mine

whats the k800i got that the k750i hasnt?

im thinking i should save money and get the k750i and flash it to w800i software, unless the k800i has something really worth getting

    k800:
    3.2 mpix cam
    240x320 screen
    3G

    k750:
    2.0 mpix cam
    176x220 screen
    not 3G

other differences, there rether different beasts in reality (unlike the k750 and the w800 for example)

    Having gone from a K750 (running W800i) firmware to a K800.

I have to say, at first I was disappointed.

The K800 at first appeared to be way too big and chunky.

However, a week further down the line, its crystal clear that the build quality of the K800 is far far far superior than that of the K750.

The buttons are more 'come and push me' rather than the flimsy plastic buttons of the K750. I refused down right to text from the handset on the K750 because the buttons were a bit fidgity.

However the K800 buttons seem to be lightly rubber coated making texting a breeze, heck I even make use of the free MSN three include.

The software is practically identical to the K750. With the additional features of a naturally progressing mobile. 3.2mpx camera, web browser etc.. and other small tweaks. Bigger screen & resolution. Better flash capabilities.

In all, im well impressed with it. Its clear SE have had a kick up the backside, from where I'm not sure, but there phones always used to be 'stylish' but crap. A bit like motorola are in a way now.

However, Im a true SE convert (from Nokia). I used to be Nokia through and through, vowing never to own another Ericsson after the abismal T20.

The K750 captured my heart as you could mod the %$($ out of it. The K800 was/is a necessary upgrade for any SE/K750 fan.

The only niggles that remain are:

    - Bluetooth on stock firmware is buggy (new Firmware is available from third parties, but not SEUS yet)
    - Cant unlock them very easily yet.
    - Unbranding kills the phones Certificates (for now)
    - No torch, due to Xenon buld

    It just needs time

I have got to admit that I have found the k800i to be faster doing everyday things than the k750i, especially where photography or the like was even hinted at. The Camera is a lot clearer, and the buttons, as Vini said, are much better to use

Yes, The k800i is a huge improvment over the K750 in all the key areas, apart for size which is not that bad really.

    Rather than getting a k750i get a w810i.

Major plus is you don't need to install software to connect it to PC as it's recognised as like flash based memory players. It's a solid build, buttons spaced out and you get 512mb in package.
