    SE P990i?

Anyone got opinions on these yet?

I know it is barely out (Carphone Warehouse have it listed as a current phone, finally made it off the Coming Soon page)

the specs are fantastic. MS Duo reader, radio, large touch screen, keypad and number pad, 3G, twin cameras.

I have to say i'm really tempted. CPW can do it on O2 for £99 with an 18month £30 tarrif...which i'm on anyway (all be it a 12 month contract). Might have to go into the shop and see what they say about an upgrade.

I was going to go from the 900i to the 990i but if your out and just want a phone they arent small bits of kit so I'm now on a K800i and an x51v PDA.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I was waiting for this phone LAST year as my upgrade it didn't come so have gone off it now, it's 12 months too late IMO. M600 looks better value although doesn't have a camera.

I grabbed one of the first units back in August.. its as impressive as stated on the package... however the initial units were quite buggy and crashed randomly and quite often... this was largely due to the lack of free RAM available for applications running on the phone.

However, SE, as per usual have stuck to it and released a couple of firmware upgrades (via the SE website) which have improved the usability of the phone quite a bit. It hardly crashes now and is an excellent piece of kit. I'm sure SE will release a couple more firmware updates in the next couple of months to smooth out any of the remaining problems i.e. if you have a load of apps open.. and decide to open another one.. it'll kill off one/some of the already running apps - this can be quite annoying, however I've learnt to kill apps as i finish using them now... aids battery life too...

All in all, I wouldn't have any other phone (I am a little biased however... have been dedicated to SE's P series since the P800 first hit the stores in October '03).

P.S. Like you guys... I also picked up a K800i in anticipation of the P990 in early August - another solid phone by SE

MrP if your after it on Orange as an upgrade just give Expansys a call they will sort it out with Orange for you. They even do them on new contracts.
