    K800i & Mobile TV

Hi all, I have a K800i and I purely out of curiosity I have subsribed to one of Vodafones Mobile TV Packages. However I seem to be having an issue in that when I go to view a channel the phone comes up with a message saying "connecting to media server" and then the screen goes completely white, then black, closes the browser and reverts to the standard SE screen (almost like it completely reboots itself).

Im just wondering whether anyone else has experienced this issue or perhaps knows of any reason why the phone would do this and perhaps provide me with a solution.

I have spoken with Vodafone customer services and the nice lady (who sounded hot) advised me it was a streaming problem with my phone and I should contact a Sony repair centre to get this problem resolved. Obviously if I can get around this without having to contact them then Fantastic!

    Anyway thanks in advance.
    Martin.

Settings seem fine, Anyone know where I can download a new firmware or a place where I can reinstall the same version of the firmware. The phone was previously on O2 so maybe it needs a specific vodafone firmware??
I have spoke with Vodafone today and they are sending me out a 3G simcard incase that is the problem. However I can browse web pages at 3G speeds.

Right ok, so I presume the phone is O2 branded?

SEUS will check for latest O2 Branded firmware (of which there are none)

WotanServer/DaVinci will let you unbrand your phone, costs about £6 for a credit and has a newer firmware out than the one you're using.

As this phone was originally on O2 and has O2 branding, I can pretty much guarentee that its a settings/setup problem.

I'd scour the web for Vodafone K800 settings, or post on Esato and see if anyone can help.

Have you tried doing a regular SonyEricsson firmware update using thier update service?

New phones tend to have FW updates quite quickly once handsets get out into the wild and problems crop up.

DaVinci/Wotan get their firmwares quicker than SEUS, as theyre put out to trial & test.

The firmware you've just upgraded to has been around 4/5 weeks now, and its annoying, as I want the new firmware. But its still not on SEUS goddamninfindifnslngflsds

I would upgrade using Wotan, heck I even have the credit but... I'd have to unbrand my Three handset and would then lose the 'Three' certificate & lose access to MSN

Well I can't get Orange MobileTV on my K800... It just doesn't work, its annoying because I get 100% free Orange world usage.

List of Orange enabled 3G phones - The M600 is NOT 3G

    K800i & Mobile TV

This could well be the Real Player that is used to view the Mobile TV stream on your handset.

    Try the following:

go to Real Player - Connection - Network. Set the Default Access Point to the WAP one, then scroll down to Highest UDP Port and change it to 7170.

Please let us know if that cures the problem
