    NAVMAN PiN 570

Does anybody happen to have a NAVMAN PiN 570? My Dad happened to come across one dirt cheap so he bought it and gave it to me (no more available I'm afraid, I've already asked!).

Anyhow, I've had a quick play on it and it looks like a good gadget. I took it for a quick spin in the car and the Sat Nav (SmartST 2005) actually works quite well. I'm new to the whole Windows Mobile scene in general, but it looks very handy. I've synced it with my PC and it's now got all my contacts, e-mails, tasks, notes etc. Groovy!

I do have a few question about it though, and I'm hopeful somebody else who has one (or is generally in the know) can help out.

Firstly, is there anyway to connect this device to a wireless network? It doesn't seem to have wi-fi built in, but is there anything I can add to it to get that feature? The e-mail, internet browser, msn and other online features seem to be useless at the moment but with wi-fi they could be great.

Secondly, the map on SmartST 2005 seems to be quite up to date but I live in a fairly new house which isn't on it, is there anyway I can update the maps?

Those are my two main questions, other than that, what other cool things can it do?

    SD Wi-Fi card out?

It does have a slow for an SD card, I currently have the card that came with it in there with the sat nav software on it.

you can definately get both sd and cf wifi cards, however you will probably find the gps reciever is an sd one. as far as other stuff todo. Noviremote is fairly handy, and theres a decent array of games. with the addition of a bigger memory car it would also make a decent portable video player/dap

The GPS reciever is a big thing on the back of it that flips up when I need to use it.

Any ideas where I might be able to pick up an SD Wi-Fi card?

Although I'm sure I've only scratched the surface when it comes to this NAVMAN's features, I'm really enjoying it so far. It's such a nifty gadget! I'll certainly be looking more into Pocket PC's in future.

Yikes, they're more expensive than I thought. Shame Scan don't seem to sell them.

I bought a Navman pin 570 from Halfords for £99, works great right out the box, also found a speedcamera POI overlay on the web, and ebay provided a SD wifi card for £20....

Care to share info on that speed camera overlay and which seller is selling the SD Wi-Fi gizmos on eBay?

PCtradeShop - excellent to deal with, made a best offer of £7.01, combined with their £12.99 p&p came to £20, paid and the item arrived the next day...

Thanks for the info mate. Query about the SD Wi-Fi access, I'm guessing that using the Wi-Fi card means that you have to remove the SatNav card and therefore can't use them both simultaneously?

Ah that's a bit of a bummer, having to change between two cards from time to time. I'm guessing a 2Gb SD card with Wi-Fi built in doesn't exist?

thanks for the cam info fuzzball just got it and will put in later, one question though non related, can't afford a lappy or mobile media player at the mo what with the bills and movin etc, and finding myself away quite a bit at the moment i want to watch something when in the hotel (their tv is dire at the best of times).

can i use say a 4gb sd card to put a programme or film on it and play it back on my 570, and will the file play as/is or will it need converting into a playable file? if not why the hell does it come with media player?
