    Orange SPV E650

Does anybody happen to know anymore about this device, particularly an estimate on when it may be available?

I'm due to upgrade my phone around the end of this month, I currently have a Nokia N80 and it's by far the best phone I've had, the wi-fi is fantastic. Now that I've realised a phone can do so much more, I'm leaning toward a Windows Mobile device for my next phone. I currently have a NAVMAN PiN570 Pocket PC and whilst that is good in its own way, I don't like having two devices and would like to get something that combines the best of both.

Now that Windows Mobile 6 has been released I think that's the route I'd like to take for my next phone and HTC seem to offer a good range of devices, their newly announced HTC S710 is a Windows Mobile 6 device and will be available through Orange as the SPV E650.

Here's an image of the device:

It's certainly not the prettiest but it seems to pack a good set of features. The downside for me is that there appears to be no mention of a touch screen, I find it hard to believe a Windows Mobile device could be controlled without a stylus?

If anybody happens to know when Orange may begin selling the SPV E650, please share it with us. Looks like it'll be a Windows Mobile 6 device or a Nokia N95 for me, decisions decisions.

This one doesnt have touchscreen. It runs WM6 Standard, which is kinda like WM5 for smartphone. Touchscreen phone run WM6 Pro I think. Get a HTC hermes, google to see Orange branding

There is quite a ferw reports and rumours around that this will not be released on Orange UK.

Orange NL have launched it but all the news so far has been that we won't get it, apparently its too much of an overlap with the M700.

That looks pretty cool! Windows Mobile for smartphones is much better without the touch interface, it's just less fiddly to use than the touchscreen versions because you never have to get out the stylus for anything. It's a shame they don't have the cut & paste option from the N80 though, that is a great feature.

Just ordered the XDA Graphite from O2 upgrading from the IQ.

Was tempted by the TyTn versions but prefer the mars bar format and couldn't wait for the e650 or equivalent

A reliable source is saying this will be available on Orange UK hopefully in April.

And there is free copy and paste software here.

Orange had the CP700 in the in store cat a while ago but it was removed. Roumers are that it will not be on the Orange network any more as it is not selling well.

Bad news Nick, though the HTC S710 is certainly appealing. Check out another Windows Mobile 6 device, the HTC Kaiser: http://www.howardforums.com/showpost...&postcount=108

    Hi there,

I'm keen to upgrade to a QWERTY and am being offered the SPV E650 by Orange. I'd be very interested to hear people's experience with it.

    Regards,

    JS
