    ASUS RMA has failed me

Hi, I have a ASUS P6T Deluxe x58 board and the problem with the battery terminal effected me back in mid March so I got onto them and RMA's it. It returned to me in May, well I should say my Mum and she resent it to me in September.

So I tried it and it was dead, I sent it back again. They replaced some components on the board and I got it back earlier this month.

Now it has further problems, the packing of the board meant it moved around in the box so the battery terminal is broken again.

The CPU is running at 70 - 80c. It used to be 40c, its not overclocked and has a Coolit ECO.

The A memory slots are not working....What do I do here. It is 9 months later and I can't take it any more.

memory slot faults can be caused by a bolt down heatsink thats to tight or even a misplaced heatsink (3 or 4 pins locked)

if its broken its time for a new one if out of warranty.

Re: ASUS RMA has failed me

Looking at the memory channel again, its the same in another board which I have had over this period of not having the ASUS one. Before I put the memory back in the ASUS all channels were working on the replacement but it's the same as the ASUS one.

Can something faulty on the board damage the on-die controller?

I also fixed the battery terminal issue and its the same, losing the bios settings.

    Ideas on a postcard.

Re: ASUS RMA has failed me

The biggest chance of breaking the memory controller is to have the RAM voltage too high.

CPU temps....are you sure the heatsink is on properly?
