Everything starts but no beep and no screen ?

When i boot up i get no beep and just a blank screen with everything else in the system working ! I have removed the memory switched them around ,changed card jigged the CPU heat sink, unplugged fans changed power supply !!!

Now on some occasions when i unplug something it works and boots up ok ..I then restart and every time its reboots with no problems .. I found out that if i close down and stay switched off for awhile or next day it will do the same thing so i randomly unplug or jigg something . I have even poked out the cmos and sometimes that will work .. I am begining to think the board has had it

The system is a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
    AMD F6300
    X2 4gig DDR3 Cruical sport
    Club RoyalKing 260X
    RS-500 PSAP-J3

    Many thanks !!

Re: Everything starts but no beep and no screen ?

I will say the same thing happened again so i turned of and changed the cmos battery and it worked !! so after resetting tome i closed down again and left for 30 minutes ..
Went to reboot and the same thing no beep ,no bios noe screen so i turned off and unplugged a usb and restarted and it worked !!! It's so random to try to temporally repair it on to come to the same problem so i'm guessing the mobo is buggered and can't comunicate with the bios properly !!

Re: Everything starts but no beep and no screen ?

Is this a new pc or have you added something new recently? Might be a long shot but the next time you get it to boot download and flash to the latest bios if you don't already have it. Sometimes a bios update can fix many problems.

Re: Everything starts but no beep and no screen ?

Do you have any other cards connected to the motherboard besides the graphics card?

As you mentioned unplugging a USB device and it working, have you tried disconnecting front USB/Firewire/SD panel from motherboard? Sometimes these can short or be damaged and stop a mobo from posting, had this the other day with a damaged front USB port.

Following on from Pastymuncher, your motherboard does have 3 revisions so might be worth checking out what version you have. If its not 3.0 it may be worth checking the issues the previous revisions had.

Thumbs up Re: Everything starts but no beep and no screen ? Strangley solved !!

After tear the hell out of the PC i found the problem but it's a strange one for me anyway !

It was the card after all !!!! I have two cards the same , one for my youngest (the broken one ) and one im doing a small build for . Whilst doing the table top challenge i changed over the two cards nine times each just to be sure it was not a random fluke like the one's i kept on getting .. ; strange thing it happened to a different card .... I would think it would be a lack of power from the PSU but that can't be the case as the other card works
My boy will happy but he won't know till tomorrow as he has school ...
