1151 vs AM4 sockets how long?

I was wondering how long AMD and intel plan to keep the current sockets. Intel always annoy me as they change their socket every 2 years. I heard rumours intel plan to keep the AM4 until 2019.
Will the 1151 go for another 2 years? Or for Cannon lake?

I'd put money on Intel already getting a new socket ready!

AM4 will be around a while by the sounds of things.

We have to be bit more sympathetic to Intel, as aside from making money from chipsets there is another pressing reason they change sockets so often:
To keep old fabs busy!
Which was the main reason for Atom's existence for the first few years. By which stage starved of resources, and with Intel in full panic mode they suddenly wasted $4billion trying to make up time.
So with Atom being almost abandoned - and certainly no longer on old nodes - and with the IoT not taking off, constantly changing chipsets is very important. For Intel that is, certainly not for their customers!
