Re: Film soundtracks. What do you like?

Its been said before but I really liked the Tron Legacy soundtrack. Not a great fan of daft punk usually, but they hit the nail on the head for me with that one. The electro synths just felt so 'right' and oddly, reminded me a lot of Mass Effect and the music there.

Also, really loved the Lord of the Rings soundtracks, though mainly the second films one. Been said before but The last Samurai has a number of fantastic tracks on there too.

BUT the best of them all - Transformers the Movie (no. The original animated one). 80s power rock. So cheerful and positive. "Yooouu got the Touch!!! Der der, you got the poooooowweeeeeeeeeerrr!!! YEAH" etc

I am really loving the Senna soundtrack at the moment. Great soundtrack to an awesome documentary. Only seems to be available from itunes though for some reason.

Really like the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. In fact, most of Tarantino's movies have great soundtracks.

Any film score which is composed by Thomas Newman. The Solaris soundtrack is amazing too.

Re: Film soundtracks. What do you like?

Totally agree with Thomas Newman, wrote an awesome score for Shawshank Redemption. Have also been listening to Goodfellas soundtrack recently, good old school tracks which remind you of the scenes in the movie.

I also am liking John Williams a lot at the moment (not just star wars but other stuff like ET).
Favourite at the moment though has to be by Dave Grusin - The Goonies!

Re: Film soundtracks. What do you like?

Probably less than I think but more than I can recall.

My remaining brain cells prompt me to say:
    Gladiator
    Last of the Mohicans
    Lord of the Rings
    Magnificent 7
    Pirates of the Caribbean
    Where Eagles Dare

    Time for my meds ...

Been watching a few old War movies (Where Eagles Dare, etc) and nearly all of the good soundtracks were by Ron Goodwin.

Re: Film soundtracks. What do you like?

    Some good songs there..

I'll throw in the Danny Elfman Batman song ( from 1989 film ) and also the song he did for Wanted, which was pretty damm good here

    And of course , Duran Durans , " A view to A Kill "
