    Jack Ryan Films & Series

I never realised there was a connection with these films!
While I have watched The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games & The Sum of All Fears, it was an exceptionally long time ago and I didn't appreciate them fully.

My aunt still thinks I'm 5 so I've been on the look out for what to get with her yearly gift voucher.
I was contemplating this boxset along with the TV series as amazingly all on bluray. Has anyone watched the TV Series, is it worth it?

The one on Prime? It's fair entertainment but nothing special.

Yeah I think it is on prime.

I may just start with the film boxset for now. Hunt For Red October was quite good as I recall and no harm having the rest

Re: Jack Ryan Films & Series

I haven't watched any of it on Prime, and a film or two when they came out. They were OK I guess, but for Clancy I find the books FAR more .... involving. Ditto for Reacher. I mean, Cruise as Reacher is an utter travesty on the books. The new guy, whose name escapes me, on Prime I guess at least kinda looks the part yet still, doesn't really grab me. Books for the win, again.

I suspect the problem is, those two being two of my favourite reads over the years, TV just can't match my imagination when reading the books. I much prefer original film/TV content where I have no preconception, over these 'franchise' things.

    Wait, what?

I was today years old when I found out there's a link between these films...
