Quarantine on the horror channel. Preferred the original REC, the remake was just a carbon copy.

Watched all the Harry Potter movies over Christmas. Seen them all before but I definitely enjoyed them more the second time round.

Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?

Finally got round to watching John Wick on UHD. Really good film, made better by HDR. Perfect casting with Keanu Reeves in the title role, plenty of fighting, guns and cute dogs. Even my wife liked it, which is unusual for her with Action Movies...

Rogue One at the cinema a few weeks ago. Enjoyed it but the 3D wasn't great. Watched Mystic River at the weekend on Blu Ray, pretty good.

    Independence Day Resurgence

It was an alright sequel, but the editing was a bit ruthless in the middle which left us both wondering what the heck is going on - someone tried to save a bit too much time in the cutting room I think.

Also watched the David Brent film, it was better than I thought, but a bit boring all the same

Finding Dory (Easter film with the family, never went to see it at the cinema)

    8/10

Good Pixar sequel, not as good as the original, but well worth a watch for animation/Pixar fans.

Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?

    The Fate of the Furious

If you have watched all the previous 7 movies, then you know what you are getting into. Dumb, stupid, doesn't make any sense and the movie knows it. It could of been a fun "leave your brain at home" movie but there is no stand out set piece as compared to the other movies. Nothing spectacular and generally is too long at over 2 hours. Paul Walker is sorely missed as a contrast to Vin Diesel's character.

    5/10 - Dissapointing

Watched Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children at the weekend. It starts of quite well, then gets a bit convoluted and rubbish. Picture Quality and sound were excellent on the 4K BR...

Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?

I watched Sicario at the weekend, very tense, thinky film. Benicio del Toro is cool as chuff, as usual. It was in UHD, but not sure what extra that brought to the film. PQ was superb, and HDR was subtle, but I haven't compared to the BR.

Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?

Had a bit of a movie-fest over the weekend...

Dunkirk - For the second time, as the Mrs didn't attend the first one.
Awful, awful, awful, dull, soulless, characterless pile of junk littered with historical inaccuracies and misinformation, garnished with a couple of potentially interesting characters and some awesome Spitfire camerawork... but not enough to save it. Perhaps go see it if your tickets are free, go down the pub instead if not.

Wonder Woman - Why do I actually believe my friends' opinions on comic book movies still?
One of the worst, utter trash, ooh look at the CGI (as if it weren't blatant already), Chris Pine plays Captain Kirk in a non-Trek film, Gal Gadot is pretty but clearly no Amazon, David Thewlis looks bored. Next...

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword - It's a Guy Richie film... totally.
I get what he was going for, I appreciate the camera work, cinematography, styles, blends, nuances, dialogue, etc etc. For what it is, it's pretty darn decent!

It's still a Guy Richie film, so look to go see a Guy Richie film and not a King Arthur film. If you want the latter, stick with Excalibur.

Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?

From the original movie series: Star Trek 1, 2 and 3.

I bought all 6 films from the original Star Trek movie series on Amazon video a few months ago. I got up to number 3 so far. Takes me back to my youth. The depth and attention to detail, and the storyline is fantastic.

    Wonder Woman, London has fallen.

Both were not praise worthy but just flicks to sit and pass time I guess.
