I think their already on shaky ground by focusing on continuing Luke etc story because no matter who they get fans are going to rebel - Hamiliton was Skywalker as Ford Solo.
They should of brought the storyline up in accordance to their current ages so the originals can make cameos and help the transition / passing of the torch.

Well, thats a matter of opinion - plus Marvel was new franchise basically -so they had nothing to lose.
A new Star Wars film is going to have a lot of pressure to deliver , and I cant really see it TBH .

Who the f**k is Hamilton???? Last time I checked he was driving F1 cars, not X-Wings and he sure as hell doesn't have an over abundence of Midi-chlorians....

The marvel universe already had a huge backstory in the same way as the star wars universe. Both have totally rabid fans as well so both pretty similar franchises in my opinion.
A lot of people have already written off new star wars films after the last trilogy so as long as they make decent films I reckon they`ll do ok.
I`m thinking scene 1 they should have Jar JAr binks getting his throat cut by Luke
Star Wars films are fantastic I am one big fan and for Disney to buy Lucas Films is a big plus no way will Disney lose out for one thing they will incorporate them into there theme parks, and I for one will be watching the new Star Wars films plus re watching the old ones.

True but the Star Wars films made Star Wars, its not like they were popular before then , so thats what it was known for much like Marvel - comics.
No one expects amazing Star Wars comics on the level of DCs batman or Marvels xmen , so IMO it works the same for films.
The only films that even approaches SW success has been Potter / LOR
But id wager Star Wars was - and always will be a lot bigger than both.
Personally I would of loved to have seen the reputed battle between Vader & Fett that happened after Episode 4 and before 5 - as apparently it left Vader greatly reduced in his abilities - or so I heard.

Not big into Star wars by any means but if Disney get a hold of it, you will have all these crappy teen actors in it and Bieber doing the theme music.
Anyway, why ruin a good story.
At the end of Return of the Jedi, they all go off and live happily ever after. Isn't that how its supposed to be. Do we really care about what happens after that?

Maybe at last the original 77 (not the 97 special edition) will be released on blue ray
As good as the 97 was and the other versions that were mashed around a bit the real best star wars is the 77 original
