Re: Your Top 5 Favourite Movies

Blade Runner is my favourite by far,

then The Name of the Rose, Shutter Island, The Straight Story and Sin City.

all of them pretty amazing and highly recommendable.

Nope. Also thought it was awful. Then again, I think Tarantino is the single most over-rated director in all of Hollywood. I can't think of a single film of his that I'd rate as anything beyond average. Almost every single movie is supposed to be, or comes of as, some sort of homage to something else. I can't think of anyone less original or with less to say (of worth). Sort of a shock-jock director - but not quite. It's as though all of his movies are just one-liners in film form, but crude and shallow.

Or maybe I should just say what I really mean?

Top five is tough. Hard to pick favourites. Some come to mind immediately but I'm sure if I ponder it I'll think of others. Here we go...for now....

    In no particular order:

    1. The Karate Kid
    2. The Karate Kid - Part II
    3. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
    4. Second-hand Lions
    5. Whisper of the Heart.

    For now...

    Simples (in no particular order)

The Matrix (no sequels should of been made!!)
    Saving Private Ryan
    Empire of the Sun
    Zulu (looks amazing remastered)
I would also then choose Shutter Island

    Close run but...:
Grand Budapest Hotel - pure brilliance
    Schindler's List
    The Dark Knight
    Die Hard
    Fight Club

Re: Your Top 5 Favourite Movies

    Godfather (only the first one)
    Limitless
Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith
REC (2007) (only the first one) -Spanish movie- don't even think about watching this if you are freaked out by Paranormal Activty or Grave Encounters.
Untergang-Downfall: Not sure about putting this in top 5 but it's a good movie that comes to mind just now.
