Our World War - Iplayer

I am mid way through watching the first episode on Iplayer on my android phone.

First impression was good and it rose rapidly to excellent

The story is strong ( let's face it... It's world war 1....it's one on the biggies!)

But it's entirely ( so far) front line and it's the build up to the first battles

The way some of it is filmed is clever if odd....chest and back cameras....particularly on a " runner" passing messages

There's a fairly early bullet cam too

The scenes are set well....it has a depth that feels as though it's playing to a 3D technology...( is it? Maybe I missed something)

It's good enough to get me posting this now half way through....but not so astounding to prevent me doing so ;-)

I'd suggest you give it a crack yourself :-)

And the sound track is....nothing like I would expect and yet it works

Episode 1 finished and raring to watch number 2!

Have now seen 2 and 3 and it's a really stunning piece of work

yeah, I saw that they were due to expire so I grabbed all 3. Currently halfway through the third episode and I can only say that I'll be buying the DVD when it comes out (as surely it must). Amazing storytelling.

i gave up after the first 15 minutes or so on the first episode, as daft as it sounds the program felt too modern for the subject material. maybe i should give it a second chance
