any idea what this is (aka sammy does name that tune again)

So out of no real burning need but curiosity..

heard a song with mostly instrumental but interspersed with the line "here is where we look back, and here is where we start" - i do know where i heard it sort of, but not exactly, and it would take a real bit of digging out.

The oddish thing is, if I google just "here is where we look back", google offers me the whole line, as if for all the world it knows what I'm after. However.. where that sends me is Lyrster, which just proceeds to list tracks containing the odd word from the above. Unless I'm seriously not seeing something that's right there.

    Ring any musical bells?

Re: any idea what this is (aka sammy does name that tune again)

It was on one of several archived radio shows, with a continual overlapping playlist & no tracklist - some are downloaded on my pc which would mean trawling 2hours worth each, but as there's a chance it was on one i listened to direct from the website, digging through the ones I have might be pointless.

edit: here http://www.wtnrradio.com/dj.php?dj=K if you have a night and a day and a night and.. etc to spare actually since I last went there the whole site seems to have gone a bit off campus.. some shows load some don't, & login seems to have gone up the spout. Like so many things, worked fine before, they've rejigged it and.. ugh.

I struck lucky about 3 shows in I have audio.

My memory completely blanked out a frenchwoman somehow.

7ish minutes into this http://www.wtnrradio.com/dj.php?showid=13277 if you'd kindly listen in. The male voice is.. familiarish.. I kind of feel I should know it..

I don't have it, so no, & wouldn't get it for the sake of this as it's just curiosity for its own sake (lazy option = ask here )

Re: any idea what this is (aka sammy does name that tune again)

That show is songs and artists beginning with the letter 'b', if that helps.

edit: OK never heard it before and I have a very odd memory for tunes. That riff should be recognisable if you have. Male singer sounds a bit like Bono.

edit2: and I hadn't even thought of the B connection - might well be Bono then.

If you have a smartphone, then download it now.

it's free and the success rate with it is staggering. I have had it tell me the exact remix of a dance tune directly from a mix, something I never expected it to be able to handle.

The Black Heart Procession & Solbakken - Voiture en rouge

From the EP In the Fishtank Vol 11

Re: any idea what this is (aka sammy does name that tune again)

That's what having the right kit does for you. Cheers, much obliged.

Plus an interesting tangent to wander off on -

    http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/...e-fishtank-11/

"Somewhere in the great filing cabinet of rock is a bulging manila folder marked "great ideas," and right behind it is a somewhat less bulging file marked "great outcomes." Keep searching, and you'll also find a huge, tattered file called "mixed results," and that's where you'll undoubtedly find a cache of documents on Konkurrent's In the Fishtank series. The idea is surely a great one: Grab one or two bands as they tour through the Netherlands, put them in the studio for a couple of days together, give them the run of the place, and release the results on an EP. Those results, however, vary wildly in quality.

This is the eleventh In the Fishtank release, and it's become clear as the series has progressed that this process doesn't work for everybody-- Willard Grant Conspiracy & Telefunk, in particular, couldn't get an interesting record together-- but when the bands are roughly of a piece with each other (Low & The Dirty Three, or Motorpsycho & Jaga Jazzist, for instance), it can produce fascinating, even excellent music. I confess that I know very little about Dutch prog trio Solbakken-- I couldn't even lazily look them up on All Music Guide, because they don't have an entry-- but from what I can gather from limited audio samples, they subordinated themselves almost completely to their sparring partners: This procession is decidedly black-hearted in every respect."

Oh and thanks anyone that had a listen the site used to have a ffwd but apparently no longer. Those particular wtnr shows are worth a listen btw, fair mix of electronic/alt rock/industrial/ebm & what have you but equally can be almost anything mixed in there.
