Re: WHAT IS YOUR BEST FILM OF ALL TIME
Based on the original cut (Requiem), I'd say that it falls short of being the masterpiece that I consider the first to be. The problem was, there were too many characters. This mean a much larger proportion of canon fodders, and a much thinner character development. Apparently, the extended cut (Revenge) does rectify the problem by adding some 20 minutes of footage for character development. This was not good enough for many, it is not the only weakness of the second - but I'll take a look anyway, since I wasn't -as- disappointed some many others (in part due to my limited expectation).
There are better evil masterpieces out there (e.g. Oldboy), so if you have better things to watch, then by all mean. But it's by far -not- the worst movie I've ever seen (as long as you are not expecting another Battle Royale). I'll probably check out the novel to see if it's any better. Apparently, they expend on a fairly minor character in the movie that I wanted to know more of. And for completeness sake (I've read the first novel and manga too). |

Re: WHAT IS YOUR BEST FILM OF ALL TIME
I tend to go through phases of what is my favourite film.
Thinking hard on it, got to be Schindlers List. So powerful and very eye opening. Other than that lately it has been 300, Hot Fuzz & The Rock. |

Re: WHAT IS YOUR BEST FILM OF ALL TIME
There are loads of films that I love but my one single choice would be easy:
Superman: The Movie One of the first movies I paid attention to when I was young, I loved it back then, I love it today and I'll love it tomorrow. Top film! ![]() |

Re: WHAT IS YOUR BEST FILM OF ALL TIME
Impossible to pick just ONE. My favourite film in the last 3 years would probably be Batman Begins. Not a huge Batman fan or anything, just absolutely loved that film. All time though, Godfather 1 and 2 would be up there.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR BEST FILM OF ALL TIME
It's funny 'Batman Begins' gets a mention, I recently watched that on the off chance, going off a friends recommendation and it was very good indeed, I really enjoyed it too. Completely different from the earlier flicks.
