Really enjoying Kimi ga Aruji de S***suji ga Ore de, really good laugh. (/edit er...guess the filter took out part of the Japanese title) I've watched upto ep 6 of Shigurui and I enjoyed that alot too. Someone mentioned Claymore...that is a good series (and as always) let down by the ending...how can they end the series the way they did when the manga is still ongoing??!! Some of the titles I'm currently watching: True Tears, H2O~Footprints in the Sand, Gundam 00 (in 720p..woow), Dragonaut (just for the utterly well endowed women and fantastic opening song), Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (hilarious show), Clannad, Shakugan no Shana 2, Bleach (the obvious...but it's getting quite boring now on episode 160) [the list is long and silly...] I can highly recommend Genshiken series 1 and 2 (as well as the OVA). Last Exile...great series...just NEVER EVER watch episode 26 (it just ruins the whole show). 12 Kingdoms - Did a marathon of that, loved every episode (including the recaps). I've heard Noein is suppose to be good. Still nothing beats my two favourite (recent) animes, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and Shingetsutan Tsukihime (oldies but goodies). I also enjoy re-watching Great Teacher Onizuka, Tenchi Muyo GXP, Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure and I, My, Me Strawberry Eggs. Can't beat a good comedy. Ahh I also enjoyed watching School Days. I'll shut up now. |

Re: Anime, who's watching what?
I have to agree that Genshiken is excellent. Shame there's just 12 episodes in each series. Hopefully a third series will be produced.
Mushishi is good as well |

Re: Anime, who's watching what?
Concur there, Mushishi is great to watch.
Following on from that, there is Ghost Hound which is airing in Japan in 1080i/p format (I believe). BTW, Ghost Hound is good ![]() Someone mentioned Death Note, another good show. Fantastic opening and ending songs by Maximum the Hormone. @freddie Yep, I seen Golden Boy. Rediculously funny Something similar (in terms of Ecchi humour) is Green Green TV.

Re: Anime, who's watching what?
Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) - Reminds me of a kids version of horror. Story isn't so bad. The show could have been made into half a season (13 eps) as I found the individual episodes stories to be repetitive at times.
I keep meaning to finish watching Jogoku Shoujo Futakomori (season 2) just never got round to it. Hopefully tonight I'll start watching Dennou Coil. No idea what it's about (and that's just the way I like it). Forgot to mention Texhnolyze; it's like marmite, you either love it or hate it. I thought it was an awesome show. My mate fell asleep. |

Re: Anime, who's watching what?
Movies, not series I'm afraid:
I watched Appleseed the other day. And the other ones i've seen recently are Howl's Moving Castle and Steamboy. Loved them all. I might now investing some series after reading this thread though. I have the Conqueror of Shamballa movies but not watched it or the series yet. |

Best to watch Full Metal Alchemist first before moving onto the Conquerer of Shamala as the movie follows on from the series. Started watching (for the second time) Zero no Tsukaima last night. Comedy/fantasy/parallel universe show. Light and easy watching. Just remembered, a very popular title: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. My mate has watched all of that and 2nd Gig (2nd season), highly rates it. [EDIT] I didn't bother with Dennou Coil in the end. Instead watched Shigurui, a good samurai series Now onto Hidamari Sketch! [/EDIT] [EDIT] Had a quick butchers at Shugo Chara and got addicted; Hidamari Sketch goes on the back burner. [/EDIT] [EDIT] In true Otaku style...Kimikiss Pure Rouge now takes precidence over Shugo Chara! So watching that now along side Shugo Chara. Also I am made aware that Region 1 version of Appleseed Ex Machina (movie 2) is available (on Blu-Ray format too). [/EDIT] Last edited by sleepyhead; 06-03-2008 at 01:22 PM.. Reason: Update |

Re: Anime, who's watching what?
Appleseed Ex Machina - MAJOR disappointment. Simple plot, boring fight sequences (typical John Woo stuff) and even visually it wasn't as appealing. I expect so much more from anyone who animates a Masamune Shirow manga.
Another disappointment that I just watched is Rosario + Vampire. It's deviated so far from the manga now, it's not enjoyable...mashing really important plot changes/character developments so early in the show. Finally started Dennou Coil - seems promising after 3 episodes...the virtual world is embedded in the real world which adds a bit of a twist to things. One word for comedy - Fumoffu Forgot to add, wastched Season 1 of Minami Ke, absolutely hilarious series about the lives of 3 sisters. Last edited by sleepyhead; 15-03-2008 at 04:39 PM.. Re: Anime, who's watching what?
Picked up the first Witchblade anime DVD, not bad, much better with Japanese audio/english subs...
I've gone on a bit of a retro kick with a lot of the Robotech boxed sets being v. cheap in a few places I've also got Tales from Earthsea and Whisper of the Heart to watch at some point ![]() Slightly less recently I went through: She, the Ultimate Weapon, Elfin Lied, Otogi Zoshi and GitS: Solid State Society

I just went through Robotech, first three boxsets. Speak to hardcore people and they say Harmony Gold butchered Macross to suit the western audience. Speaking of Macross, when will they do an official English version of Macross Zero? It's fantastic. |

What's Tales From Earthsea like? Timothy Dalton is meant to be great in it.
I got Princess Mononoke the other day which i've still to watch. |

Re: Anime, who's watching what?
How did I not see this thread before!!!
Recently Ive been watching: Gundam 00, finally a new gundam that isnt completely emo! Bacanno, very cool, reminds me of bebop if it were set in 30s new york Armored Trooper Votoms: Pailsen Files, really oldschool character design but with bits of 3d, oh and skating mecha! Ghost hound, really good but seriously trippy Mnemosyne, defintely not one for the kids, it gets pretty graphic, interesting plot though Pumpkin Scissors, decent story line, but theres no conclusion, everything is left wide open for a second series that so far there is no hint of ever getting made. What I will be watching: Bus gamer, watched the first episode and it looks like it could be quite good Real Drive, I.G. productions, nuff said |
