Re: DJGrooverider 4 years in jail
Although I agree that this is a harsh sentence, if you visit other people's countries you have to respect their laws. This sentence might be tough, over the top, needless and many other things, but it is also consistent with many previous decisions.
In my opinion, Groovy *knew* he had that stuff on him, he just thought he could get away with it. Back in the late 80's early 90's when cannabis was MUCH less accepted than it is now - and a jailable offense if caught with it - Groove and others liked him used to openly smoke it behind the decks. I've even seen him on TV smoking it. No attempt to hide his actions, just wearing his 'j' like some badge of honor. What's wrong with a bit of discretion? Not 'street' enough? I'm not saying that smoking cannabis should or shouldn't be an offense, what i'm saying is that Groove has shown continuous contempt for the law for nearly 2 decades and you can see the results right here. If you break the law (don't we all in some way?) you have to be a man and take the consequences. That said, I hope he doesn't have a bad time and that someone sees sense and releases him early. . Bad guy who deserves to have his life ruined? I don't think so.... |

I'm sure he'll be out long before his sentence is up and once they've made their point...

Re: DJGrooverider 4 years in jail
different strokes for different folks !!!
one very good point is that NO ONE is above the law unlike here where clebs get sent to re-hab for a week while normal bods do a stretch he will probably be pardoned after ramadan by the king ( i hope they make him keep the fasts ![]() |
