    X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Anyone been yet, what did you think?

I saw it yesterday and I thought it was a mixed bag really. Brilliant opening credits sequence, on a par with Watchmen's I'd say.

I haven't read x-men for a long time but as far as I could tell it was a mixing together of a few scenario's of wolverines origin while attempting to keep a basic continuity with the previous films. I'm not quite sure that continuity extends to the sabretooth character.. If anyone cares to explain that one it would be good lol

It does bring in some of the missing favourites like Gambit but imo doesn't use them to much effect, in fact they missed a trick (no pun intended) on gambit throughout the series.

Yeah, I really liked it. I know sod-all about the X-men, and thought the other x-men films were pretty mediocre. But this film had a nice dark edge to it that I really enjoyed. It's very fast paced though, and my g/f was frustrated by how all the many cool characters in the film were getting almost no screen time at all.

Yeah it was a shame they brushed over some of the characters but I suppose this is a Wolverine movie.. so maybe they can be forgiven for that lol

I did like it, works nicely with X1 and 2 which I thought were very good. X3 I can take or leave, doesn't do much for me. Didn't have quite so much of the Wolverine humour as I was expecting which I suppose does lend itself to being a bit darker. The CG on his claws in the bathroom mirror was about as good as the graphics in tron though, really really laughable

I hope they don't try and make too many of these origins movies though, it could become tiresome very quickly.

    Because he's SOOPER

I think 6.5 out of 10 for me. Could have made better use of the other characters but it was decent enough as an origin story.

I went to see it last night and felt a bit underwhelmed.

After the reboots done last year by marvel I had high hopes that they would continue the good work with this but it just didnt catpivate me.

There where too many things in the film that where done to make sure they could fit it into the time line most obvious were Striker shooting Wolverine in the head to wipe his memory(amazing how he good shoot so well to ruin his personal memoris but didnt affect his Speech/motor skills etc) And also When his missus decided not to shoot stryiker and instead get him to walk till his feet bleed instead of killing him

I enjoyed it - it was fun on a turn off the brain level - and sometimes that's a good thing.

I reckon star trek will be far better mind (and that in itself hurts my noggin)

    Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I really didn't enjoy it - I thought it was badly put together and for a big budget film (as staffsMike observes above) some very, very poor effects.

I did spend a few minutes trying to work out who Colonel Striker (spelling?) was before I realised he was the Neil Tennant vampire from Thirty Days of Night.

Not a big Star Trek fan but I should be seeing that tomorrow and I'm anticipating it much more than Wolverine.

I saw it today, and enjoyed it but having seen Star Trek at the weekend, it wasn't quite in the same league on so many levels.

It's one of those grab the popcorn and disengage brain kinda films

I enjoyed it but would agree with feeling underwhelmed overall. It did look stunning in places but the story was a bit lacking for me.

Hopefully Star Trek will be better.

It wasn't bad there were a couple of nice set pieces but I'm not a fan of how they handled deadpool and a couple of the other new characters they introduced, the less said about the bullet memory wipe the better as well in my opinion.

Great movie, but at least one HUUUUUGE plot hole. I can't mention it here because it's a major spoiler.

    Otherwise, it's a good film
