Maybe I'm just getting old, but I thought the start was quite touching. Pixar have a dam good way of conveying emotions without needing to resort to anything other than basic animation - truly masters in the field.

Saw it in 3D and was very impressed with it. Pixar haven't gone down the route of trying to do everything in 3D for the sake of it (The Terra advert was going that fast it was hard to make stuff out), but rather it is quite subtle in when things 'pop out'. If other films were done this well in 3D, I'd gladly pay the money to watch them.

Certainly one you can take the kids to and enjoy. Worth a watch if you don't mind watching films aimed for a younger audience

I have heard good things about this film. Pixar certainly seems to be embracing 3D as Toy Story has also been re-released in 3D for the big screen. Plus Disney has just launched Toy Story Mania, a new Wii game with 3D features. Like you said, they use 3D very well and the game is as enjoyable and charming as its film counterparts. I enjoyed this film and its good to watch the beginning which goes back to the classic love story. Very charming and well worth a viewing.

Saw this in Singapore a few weeks ago, but I'll be going to see this again (this time in 3D!).
Fantastic film, funny and touching... I liked the theme of it never being too late to realise your dreams. Hopefully I'll manage to keep my eyes dry this time through

Also, the Pixar documentary on the South Bank show last was a fascinating watch - it was great to learn more about the company and the way they do things there.

Well, Sair and I went to see Up last night.

Firstly, I gotta say I felt massively agrieved at having to pay £10.75 each! £21.50 for two people to see a film is SERIOUS dough in my opinion. It was a Sunday, so maybe we should have gone on an Orange Wednesday... two for one.. but baby sitter situation required. It was the 3d version we saw, so 3d Ray Bans frm Miami Vice included in price... but still... my first opinion was "this is gonna have to be awesome.. ir I'm gonna have the hump"

The opening Pixar mini movie about Storks delivering babies from clouds was pretty good.. and as previously mentioned by everyone, Pixar have a skill of transmitting emotions with no voices.. and the 3d was beautiful. Deep and warm, sharp and intense.

This "depth" continues through the main feature film too... it's got a fair few "out in the crowd" 3d moments, but it;s the varied levels of DEPTH< going BACK into the screen that amazed me.

Onto the film..I had NO idea what it was about, except a house on a baloon.

But the first 15 minutes was heart rending, joyous and an emotional roller coaster that brought a genuine lump to the throat..... a very very good way of grabbing my attention.

So,.... 20 minutes in and I was hooting with laughter, enjoying it immensely AND I'd started feeling happier about my £21.50 investment.

It got better.. and better.. funnier... sadder.. more touching... man this thing was an emotional raft down the rapids of life...

I can't score it higher than saying this: It's as good as Monsters Inc in it's beauty and artisitc design, it has a few moments of proper heart break to make your lass cry and you not be able to share the hankerchief cos it's already in use

and comedy moments of gold. It also has some Action scenes that are worth moving around in your chair for, because it's a bit tense... it's a 9/10

It doesn't get a 10/10 becaue I don't want to see it again for a long time. Not that is wasn't amazing... it WAS. But my heart can't take it again.... not yet.....

Does anyone know if the DVD will be in 3d so I can use these glasses again?

Saw this last night with my nieces and they loved it. Tbh so did I. Its one of those few animated movies that both adults and kids can enjoy

Saw this the other day, and it was brilliant. 10/10. I love how Pixar is able to convey emotion! Gonna see it again in 3D I think

your review summed up my thoughts exactly.

Some may disagree with my comparison here, but I couldn't help but think of my first view of Wall-e. Managing to bring a man close to tears, through animation is an art and one that Pixar appear to have perfected.

3D was rather expensive, but well worth it imho.

The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was (spoiler alert)

that we saw such a short time of the childhood, I quite liked the two kids together. Perhaps that's what invoked the emotions so quickly?

I went to see this at the weekend.

I did enjoy it, but not as much as other Pixar films. I guess I enjoy it more when they turn inanimate objects into characters rather than just using people. Although I did really love the dogs with their collars

The problem here is also the price of the other things in the cinema as well.

3.50 for a regular watered down coke - Your having a bleeding laugh ain't you Vue and Cineworld? I can get 2L bottles cheaper than that and don't get me started on the price of the popcorn and other treats.

Taking the Mrs and 2 of the older kids she has to the cinema is really expensive for me at the moment, you can imagine by the time tickets, popcorn and drinks are purchased I've been fleeced of about 30-40 pounds.

Maybe the cinemas need to adjust their prices as I know the price of drinks etc scares a lot of people from the cinema due to being absolutely rubbish value for money.

Everytime I've been to the cinema here near work it's been dead. In fact it was deader than dead sometimes as there was about 12-24 people in the cinema watching whatever we are watching.

Drag me to hell is a good example as there was about 6 of us in the cinema and it was a laugh as we were all joking about it being a private showing.

The only film we've watched which had quite a few people in was Toy Story in 3D but this was mainly parents with their children.
