Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence

Came this morning from Play. Just watched it & what can I say...but breathtaking. The quality of animation is simply awesome.

As for storyline, not your usual G.i.t.S. fare as there's no major Kusinagi, but Bato steps into the lead role with great aplomb. Sound story, indispersed with the usual philosophical ramblings. It's the cgi that's what stands out here from all the other titles in the series, be it the original, or Stand Alone/Complex series.

    Anyone else seen it yet?

I saw the sub-titled american release quite a while back. The animation was incedible. As per ususal with GitS the storyline was pretty complex with the whole philosphy of the soul thing. Is this latest relase dubbed into English? If so have they used the same voice actors from the original and stand alone complex?

    Ewwww @ dubs

I much prefer listening to the original Japanese actors, they just seem to fit in better - the dubs have a tendency to sound a little bit on the cheesy side..

But to the topic in hand - GitS2 is an absolute masterpiece! I've watched both 1 & 2 over and over again they're that good, and each time I seem to be able to get that little bit more of of them, perhaps something extra in the plot, maybe just some added detail in the background of a shot, but each time it just gets better and better

Anyone know if GitS3 is on the cards?

What order are you supposed to watch Ghost in the Shell? Is it the first movie, the series, then the second movie?

na, the series is set apart from the films, so watch the movies in sequence, then the series while we wait for the next film

It was very disappointing in terms of story and progression I thought - at some points my mind was wandering, which is unusual at best when watching almost any anime - but yes, the saving grace was the animation.

I would like to watch it again though, maybe I was just tired or bored at the time.
