End of Season2...

So, now people have seen it, where do they think its going to go in S3...

I think this could be a very dangerous path for them, maybe there are reasons for it I dont know about but I can see this breaking the proven formula for the show.

There is the possiblility that there could be another point in the direction of the original and the cylon child could be the stupid blonde know it all from the Galactica '80 show, they make a ship with what they have access to on the planet and zap it off into space, the cylons all leave and follow it?

I was half expecting it to be Baltar having a dream or something..

Anyone else any ideas as to where it could be going?

I couldn't believe that they did that with the Series 2 finale.

Very very bold of Ron Moore, the writer/producer but I just wonder if he should have eased into the storyline gradually rather than do a fast forward of that amount of time. I can understand that he might not have wanted it to turn into a melodrama of life on new Caprica but he could have I don't see why he couldn't have eased into it or spread it out over 2 or 3 episodes. At least we would have seen more character development.

Still, it sets things up for S3 - it could be like that sci-fi series "V" with the humans under the rule of the aliens / cylons and have to build up a resistance movement.

The highlight for me in Series 2 was the 2 part Pegasus episode - absolutely brilliant - though it was a shame they lost Admiral Cain. I thought her character was superb and added a real edge to the proceedings. I would have liked to have see Adama / Cain have a bust up or Galactica / Pegasus go their seperate ways as a result of a Cylon attack or something similar. At least that way, it would leave things open for Pegasus to return in future and re-invigorate the story.

Well seeing the Pegasus and Galactica and a few other ships jumped out there could well be 2 story arc's, its unlikely that there gonna come back and try n kick ass, the number of Cylon ships that jumped in was far superior.
Also neither of the Battlestars had a full crew compliment so it is unlikely they could mount any sort of rescue/assault on the Cylons..

As far as I've heard there starting filming in April so we'll see what comes out of the rumour mill before it airs in August.

What do the cylons want?

Since their leaders are the man-lovers (literally and figuratively) have they suddenly changed their mind and want to dominate humanity? Maybe to force the flaws out of humanity by control instead of exterminating them?

Aye what do they want indeed.

Theres a chance of some sort of civil war between the cylons, theres posibility of differnet factions, I think this could be where Lucy Lawless comes into it, the one that 6 and sharon killed could of been downloaded into another body and could be out to get revenge, do the humans stand in the way or not, do they protect 6/sharon in an effort to protect themselves or do they not get involved which could lead to the cylons turning on the humans again...

Could get interesting or crap, only one way to find out...

So far it seems that the humaniforms are the leaders, but the nature of the new series cylons seems to be toward specialisation. Ships with brains, soldier drones, etc. Maybe the humaniforms are the spies, with a leader-type above them...

Well there could now be 2 good sharons, no idea what they did to them when they settled on New Caprica, last I rememeber she got stuck in the brig with the priest chap, from there I dont know, airlock maybe?

The idea of factions within the Cylons is a good one, and quite feasible...given the predicament that the humans they well may need to rely on a Cylon faction in order to stand any chance.

Whatever happens I cant see season 3 being crap..the director Ron Moore has done an excellent job so far, with the first 2 series far surpassing my expectations...he made a bold move with the season2 finale, and no doubt fully expected fans to say wtf?! The guy is shrewd, he knows what he is doing, he will not mess up season 3
