Audio Media player to connect to AV Amp

    Hi

I am trying to see if there are any media players that are dedicated to playing MP3's, WMA etc and can be connected to an amp? I am guessing a unit with its own screen so you can navigate the various albums/songs that would be stored.

    Is there such a thing?

Thanks for that, Logitech seem to do the best value kit and also looks pretty robust.

But I am surprised there isn't a simple unit with its own hard drive that can just play music. The screen remote on the logitech is a brilliant idea, but the kit relies on either a computer being on or accessing music from the internet.

Well too be honest, as you can get a pretty reasonable AV media player for £200 I thought this was a reasonable price to expect...

You can use WOL to boot/wake the PC when the Squeezebox requires music off it, then the PC will go back to sleep X minutes after you stop streaming from it. Or you could use an old PC and install linux/windows and turn it into a music server. Or you could by a cheapish NAS. Or just use Squeezenetwork and Napster.

Never used Napster. How does that work? I was looking at the NAS idea as a solution. I think this would be the most robust option.
