    PC to Blueray to TV?

    Hello:

I have my computer connected via Ethernet to a Samsung Blu-Ray player, which is connected to the TV. I can play stuff from Netflix on my TV this way, but not Amazon Prime stuff (not supported by the Blu-Ray).

Isn't there way to play *anything* from the computer via the Blu-Ray player on the TV? So, if I am streaming an Amazon Print movie (Dallas Buyers Club) onto my computer, can't I convey it to the Blu-Ray and then to the TV?

    Grateful for advice!

Does your bluray player have an HDMI in? Maybe if you connect your PC via HDMI to the bluray player, you can pass the output through to your TV.

Virtuo, that would require about 20 meters of cable. Now, I have seen HDMI connectors on an ethernet cable, so that may be a possibility. Unfortunately, wireless does not work with streaming (I have tried). I could, of course, spend $99.99 (~ $100.00 :-) on the just released Amazon box, but for now, I did find the movie (Dallas Buyers Club) on RedBox, which has a kiosk just a few blocks away from us, so I was finally saved from watching the movie on the computer. In any event, since our Blu-Ray player does not support Amazon, the answer is probably to buy one of the boxes (Ruko?, for instance) that supports almost everything.

    Thank you!

Would something like Chromecast not be an option for you? - http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/chro...es/chromecast/

Jojj, unfortunately, I cannot stream movies from my modem/router; distance too long, and too many obstacles. The Blu-Ray picks up the signal, but when I try to stream, no cigar. So, I have an Ethernet cable drawn via the attic to the Blu-Ray, which works fine. What I need, perhaps, is a wireless router at the end of the cable rather than the Blu-Ray, and then, something like Chromcast. in the TV.

    Regards,

Maybe something like the chromecast and a wireless repeater might help your signal strength?

Yes, Jonj, that is certainly an alternative. It really comes down to whether a repeater or a Wi-Fi router is cheaper, and which is better signalwise. I'll do some investigation. Now, is there some software I need as well, or how does my computer know when to send streaming or whatever to the TV and when not to?
