Xilo.net - a webhost to avoid at all costs!
Just a word of warning to all, I had two domains and my websites hosted with Xilo.net. Never have I experienced such bad customer service anywhere.
Frequent downtime. If you submit a support ticket, you'll be lucky to get a response within a week. If you give up on support tickets and request support in their forum, the thread will be locked and you'll be asked to raise a support ticket, naturally. If you call their telephone lines, 99% of the time you'll get a recorded message telling you the office is closed, due to staff training no less, and that you should visit them at xilo.net Even transferring my domains away from them has been nothing but a headache, they simply don't wish to issue EPP keys and I've had to find other workarounds as they simply wouldn't respond. I very rarely get annoyed by poor customer service but Xilo are beyond that, they are simply shocking. My advice is to avoid them at all costs. Thankfully, my domains are now registered with namecheap and my website hosted with asmallorange. I'm completely free of Xilo at last! |

Its worrying that these companies can make a profit, if their CS is like that
![]() I've used 34sp and they were pretty good, when I wanted a private domain/hosting I looked at QiQ, but ended up going the home server route instead

I've had a few hosting co's in my time but 34sp have been pretty good. Support is good, ok they've screwed up a few times and we had a period of downtime recently when the A/C in the data centre went belly up but excluding that issue i've been happy for the last few years.

supanames are damn good, excellent customer service (I even had staff reply to me at 11pm), excellent uptime - and the last time I had some downtime they e-mailed me personally to explain why as opposed to a mass e-mail out to any other clients.
Although they are rated as the best UK host I think. |
