If you have the DMT tool and turn the advanced options on you can alter the SNR (lower it) to increase speed, it is likely to reduce line stability though

Just thought I'd say, I've found the bebox (Speedtouch 780) to be an excellent router. There's loads of advanced stuff you can play about with through telnet, such as QoS.

Ah thanks, I'll check out this DMT tool thingy then.

Yes, I like Bebox too. It connects faster than DG834G and web browsing seems much smoother. With DG834G I got lot of stutters and resyncs. I guess interface could have been made easier for the user, though.

EDIT: Just tried DMT Tool and wow this thing is awesome! My sync speed went up quite dramatically. Very nice.

What the?! How far from the exchange are you?

And yeah I agree Be* is really stunning, I've been with them for well over a year now and it couldn't be better, honestly! No disconnects, no limit, ridiculously low pings in CS (like 5-10ms), I can even sit on torrents while playing online games, if I so wish :3

9meg on my Be* connection which I'm pretty damned chuffed with, considering the attenuation of 45.5 I have to put up with...

Anyone else find the BeBox slightly understable if applying a heavy load over the wireless connection?

Im not sure if anyone else has this problem, but the phone socket the BB is plugged into is an extension taken from the landing. Quite a few times when i answer the phone that is in the landing ( oddly enough cordless) my internet light disappears then reappears after a while during which, obviously, i have no internet access. You reckon i should get this checked out or something?

I live like 300m away from the exchange, but only getting around 7mbps. it is kind of low i guess, however anything is better than the service i got from sky....
    Have some of that

Is it an extension reel (bought from an elcectical retailer) that you use or an engineer installed internal extension?
