    BroadBand trigger level massage?

I live in the sticks of Wales and BB is a long distant prospect as we are at 20% of the trigger level so far (30 out of 150). There's probably not even 150 houses in the village BTW!

    Questions:

What is the prereg info used for? How is it used? Assuming the answers are suitable then......

Can't I prereg loads of people in my village (without their permission but no names entered on prereg anyway so no harm done me thinks) but using REAL Phone numbers and postcodes for the village and non existant email addys?

After all I'm not signing them up for anything am I like a contract, it's just to register interest in a service isn't it?

Or will they be hounded by BT via phone to take up the now "available" broadband in their area that "they" prereged for!?

Ho hum, otherwise I'll have to do some foot slogging round the village and try my powers of persuaision on em.

    CHeers,

    MM

I've registered a couple of people I knew in my village, they could not be bother to do it themself but say I could put their name and number down and not one of them got a call. So it looks like you could registered anyone as long as you have their name and BT tel number - not sure how legal it is though... anyway my exchange was enabled last year so it was successful.

You can get massages over the internet now? COOL!

Bugger it, I think I'll just go thru the phone book and do about 10- 20 a week of those in my area and see what happens, We'll never reach the trigger otherwise.

BT do have checks in place for people that do this...

Best way to do it is goto the BT campaign website, and they give you £100 if you hit your trigger

    Heres the URL=http://62.172.198.79/broadband1/where_i_live/campaigns/index.asp]campaign linkage[/URL]

I did this for my village, went door-to-door, got everyones details and the pre-registered them using a bulk registration form from an ISP.

My Campaign lasted just over 1 week and I collected about 120 registrations that I needed to put me over the 150 target.. Only got till the 18th and we will be activated, YAY!

I did give it some thought and figured door stopping was the way to go about it really.

Acidrainy: Just out of interest how big is your village for the target trigger of 150?

According to the parish info my village has less than 600 people in it, so we'd need near 100% pre reg to get the trigger!! Who sets these targets I ask!

Oh well, I doubt BT would lower the taget once it's set.

i assume the levels are set as BT knows how much profit they want 2 be making and set the levels by that.
