    This is the speed that my 7meg connection ASDL for tiscali runs at.

    Alyways thought that it was norm for download to 10% of this, but after reading something about virgin, am not to sure.

    Was I correct origonaly???

    System 1- P5Q PRO +Q6600ASUS P5Q PRO, Core2quad 6600 @ 2.40 GHz, 4GB DDR2 PC2 6400 Corsair RAM, 512MB sapphire HD 4850, 320GB WD, Corsair HX 520 PSU, Antec 900, 22" ASUS MW221u, 5.1 logitec x-540sa big improvement from system3

    System 2 - Dell Studio 15Core2Duo T5750 @ 2.0 GHz, 2GB DDR2 PC2 667MHz, ATI Mobility Radion HD3400 256MB, 150GB hard disk

    System 2-Dell, Core2Duo E6400, 2GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, 256Mb Radion GPU, 2*160GB SATA2 (raid 0), and 19" mon.

    System 3-AsRock cheep as chipsAsRock P4i65G, Celeron 2.6GHz@2.9GHz, 512Mb DDR PC2100 @ 150MHz 2-3-3-7, 2*40GB 7200, Hampauge TV tuner, Creative soundblaster live!5.1digital running 5.1 logitec X-540, and Nidiva 420 64mb332 @ 283/367 struggling to run ASUS MW221u moniter @1680*1050

    At least you can boast you have an almost symmetrical connection.

    Joking aside it does seem low, Do they throttle users that download lots?

    that seams very low do you know how far you are from the exchange. that may be one of the cause of slowdown.if your close to the exchange i would talk to tiscali. they will be able to sort you out with a different line profile

    What speed does your modem/router sync with the exchange? You should be able to find this out in the status page.

    Well, you're synching at 8mbps so they must be throttling down your connection. Have you tried calling them and just asking them straight up?

    I don't really want to call them and ak, as our last problem (broken line) took about 7 weeks for them to sort. I do think that we live a while from the exchange, could this also be causing it. I live in Cranleigh, Surrey, and don't know where the closest exchange is..

    I am only about 800m form the exchange...It should be faster, shouldnt it
