Teaming Two Broadband Lines Together
Have any of you attempted the above, either at home or work?
I know there are a few router around that will consolidate two lines into one (scan sell one for £90). I have access to BE broadband and virign media cable. In theory I can run these two together and get about 35Mb/3Mb or so. I'm guessing its more trouble than it's worth though

Re: Teaming Two Broadband Lines Together
Be are in the trials of "bonding" in the London area at the moment. I would love to have 2 lines bonded at home giving me a crazy 40 Mb link
![]() http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/3...2-bonding.html providing all these trials go well and the specialised routers they are supplying work well I can see them rolling it out by next year

Re: Teaming Two Broadband Lines Together
Would be awesome if the trial was in my area
![]() But wouldn't we have to pay for an extra line to be installed before getting it? |

Re: Teaming Two Broadband Lines Together
this is also how VM works with its cable.
The issue you are going to have is that you can't use both to download one file (maybe a torrent, but i'm not sure)

Re: Teaming Two Broadband Lines Together
There's some guy on the Be* forums that's ghetto bonded two Be* lines together.
But the problem is the same like applications that aren't written to use dual cores... things aren't 'multithreaded' across the lines. |
