    Bebox router hacked?

Hi, i cant seem to access my own router from my web browser anymore. it now asks me for a username and password. it NEVER use to do this before and as far as i know, you cant change it?

I use to just type in the address of the bebox in my web browser and gain access to it without logging in. now its asking me for login details??

Has my router been "hacked" somehow because i never changed any username and password settings for it!

I tried typing "Adminstrator" as the username and leaving the password blank as indicated in various website as the default user details and it doesnt work

    Re: Bebox router hacked?

Try "Admin" in both upper and lower case and the password could possibly be 'password' .
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Bebox router hacked?

you should have got an email from Be recently along the lines of the following that I got from O2:
"We’ve found a new risk to your O2 Home Broadband Wireless Box, so we’ve set-up an extra password.

It’s the 11-digit serial code starting with ‘CP’ on the bottom of your wireless box. It looks like this: CP123456789. (The digits in brackets aren’t included.)
If you’d like to change it to something you’re more likely to remember, head here

That’s it. Nothing else about your O2 Home Broadband service will change. Not even the password you use to connect wirelessly. And now it’ll be much more secure. "

Yep - http://forums.hexus.net/networking-b...ter-issue.html . Seems Be made a sterling job at screwing up their mass-emailing.

Took me a few hours the other day to work out what had happened.

Like everyone else, I too never received any email.

    A wise move though.

By the way, if you are wondering why they decide to add a password: http://www.jibble.org/o2-broadband-fail/
(I am looking into going O2 and was wondering if their routers are worth using)
