    small network problem

Hey people. I feel like such a newb asking this, but with all the exams and coursework coming out of my ears my mind is a bit frazzled.

Im at my g/f's house (the wonderful Claire) and im trying to set up a little home network. Thing is i lost all the instructions from when i did mine at home and ive forgotten what to do.

    We have :

    Computer One
    Windows 2000
    Motorola SurfBoard USB Version
    PCI Network Card

    Computer Two
    Windows 98
    PCI Network Card

A 6 Port Ethernet Hub with a cable going from comp1 to port one and from port two to comp2.

What exactly is it i need to do to get the internet to work on computer 2. Fileshare would also be nice (network neighbourhood) but not necessary.

Thank you very much for your time

Enable ICS on computer one. Set the workgroup name to something other than the default.
On Computer 2, set it to obtain IP automatically. Set the workgroup to the same name as above.
Any other probs feel free to PM me or post here.

sure all the NIC drivers are installed properly? IIRC windows doesn't display network stuff until it realises you may have a network (ie, have a NIC installed)

Hmm, I dunno then. Expect it to take some time, you often really have to fight with Win98 over networking =)

Right click my computer, properties, computer name,
at the bottom there's a tab that says to rename or join a domain - click that
