Streaming music Itunes Styleeeee + wlan prob

Ok a little info about my setup firsty =)

not idea, but there are currently 3 PCs on my network each with a different OS.

My main my [my PC] is running XP
    My Sisters [Running 2k]
    and my Laptop [running 98se]

I basically want to be able to share my mp3s between all the PCs. Normally I would use Itunes to do this like i did at uni - but Itunes wont work with 98se [and no i cant upgrade it cos it wont run anything better =) ]

My network is a Netgear 54g wireless network - all devices have great signal strength.

Now the other idea i had [other than the failed itunes one] was to simply share my MP3 folder and do things that way - slight problem there in that I cannot get my win98 laptop or the 2k machine to see my XP machine. I can ping both ways between all computers, and the XP machine can see both the 2k one and 98se one - but they cant see each other or the XP machine

    nice an complex eh =)

so - whats the best way to stream music Itunes style (ie each user can pick and play diff songs at once] but without itunes

and any ideas how to fix my problem??

    thx for any help =)

i wrote a full gui front-end to allow access via a web browser, listen to albums or tracks via streaming. the playlists are created on the fly for albums & tracks, as standard .pls files. simply set .pls files to open in winamp

xmms seems to have made mincemeat of my carefully crafted titles, but they're defined in the .pls and winamp picks them up

Ok i have it sorted now =)

I use Streamsicle to stream music from ym Main XP PC to my lapptop - usees winamp to play the streams =)

my file sharing problem was solved by me enabling 'Netbios over tcp/ip' on the XP machine. I thought that I had already done this but i had done it for my physical connection - not for my Wireless one. Anyway it now works great, just as i wanted =) I can transfer files and share printers - and stream music/video around my house

cheers for tryin to help directhex =)
