    Just installed some Cat6 cables around the house under the floorboards and I can confirm that it is a pain fishing it through and bending it to get it in a certain position.

    Cat6 is futureproofing really, IMO. For current 1Gb networks (let alone 100Mbps) it's not going to give you any benefit over Cat5e, and it's more expensive and less flexible.

    i installed cat 6a stp and my god it was difficult to work with. the shielded twisted pairs make the cable so rigid, and it doesnt like to bend at all. it also kinks really easy (which can cause speed issues if you leave it like that or break a cable). Where are all the 10Gbe switches we could use it with I think cat 5e is still good enough for most home users.
