    I was thinking of switching to Virgin Media for BB as my Plusnet prices have gone up esp. with BT line rental now £198/yr!

    If your service is working reliably and you're happy with the speed, don't switch. Going by today's prices, I don't think the £45 saving a year is worth the effort, not including VM's £9.99 activation fee and Plusnet's broadband cessation fee.

    The cheapest VM broadband only package is £30.25/month for the 50Mb/s service, which isn't far off the £34/month you pay for BT line rental (£198/year) and Plusnet's 38Mb/s service (£17.49/Month).
