| ADSL modem change BT 2 NTL ? at present i am with bt line and pipex adsl. i will be changing to an ntl broadband & telephone line can i use my BT line 3com wireless router with modem built in? or do i have to use some other ntl modem also i am not in a telewest/blueyonder area but can receive ntl service apparantly Last edited by 5cupa; 09-06-2005 at 01:19 PM.. |

| So are you going onto NTL cable? If so NTL will supply a cable modem foc & I would think that you should be able to plug the output from that into your 3com router (either via ethernet or USB). | as far as i know if you have a dsl wifi router it wont work with NTL yo need one without a built in modem. i might work but from what ive read its not common (i have never read about one that does only ones that dont. Dedham dedham |

| no, it doesn't work like that, the NTL 'modem' is a cable to ethernet bridge, it needs a host to work with, be it a computer or a generic 'broadband' router, your current adsl router wont work with it. Since as far as your 3com router is concerned its adsl port is the wan port its concerned with routing. Originally Posted by Agent
