    Password recovery from Router

    Guys & Gals...

    Is there a way, either by software or other means, of getting the password on a router revealed as a "contact" has bought a new router, but cannot remember what he changed his password to on the connection meaning the paper I have here with all the passwords on is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

    A factory reset (RTFM) will reset the password, but the router will need setting up again

    Yes I knew that but the fool changed his password on the dial-up and forgot what words and numbers were used

    Anyway - I've got round it. I had to login to his router and then go to the "connection" settings section and then ran the following tool ;

    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/asterie.zip

    This removes the "*" and then tells you what data was in the fields

    All running fine and dandy now - just need to fix a few issues.

    Thanks anyway Norky
