    Question How long does line activation usually take?

    I migrated to Be* a short while ago (the ADSL Max ISP), practically the moment my exchange was enabled I got that MAC code asap from Tiscali 2mb

    So far Be* have been fantasic, in terms of speed of the order process, the amount of info they let you see on your account page, website navigation, the actual true unlimited service *cough cough*Tiscali*cough*, their 3 month-to-leave with no contract thing, and their prices with silly amounts of promotional codes lurking about and free referral months!

    They even sent me a free wireless modem which appears far better than my old broken one SCORE! It seems preconfig'd with all the details to make it easier for us, so it appears to connect by itself...

    However its just this activation thats getting on my nerves, which is probably down to BT or something. I'm awaiting line activation, and me being the silly impatient sod I am, I can't wait for it to come! It didn't come today, so I'm expecting it tomorrow... the order status is on amber which is the "in progress" stage, the rest are green cept for the "modem arrived" stage which has obviously happened.

    Now although I'm not going mad yet, how long can I seriously expect?

    Thanks in advance, from the longest writar evar,
    unreal

    If you ring them they can give you a more accurate (exact) date. I am surprised it didnt say your activation date in one of the emails you got sent. I got a txt message with the date of activation.

    I got email and a phone call quoting me on activation date, so I expected it in the 12th pretty much for certain... and now the situation appears worse ;

    Ah Just a minor problem that was down to BT... Be* really are VERY good. I called them, and put me on a priority team that guaranteed the activation within 24hrs... turns out it was only a few hours later and I was kicked off Tiscali, plugged the modem in instead, HURRAH 17mbits I live about 7-10mins walk from the exchange (yes, I walk slowly) so speed hasn't went TOO slow

    Fiasco over ladies, I thoroughly recommend Be*. Definately.

    How long would it take if i use my own line which has never had a adsl broadband at all. i have two BT lines at home, one with tiscali and my own personal line without any adsl line enabled.. shall i migrate via the tiscali one? or should i cancel the tiscali and than enable BE* on my own line??

    Its cheaper (isn't it?), faster and frankly easier if you migrate from your ADSL line. But if if really would be far easier/better to have it on your personal seperate phone line, then I guess it's worth it...

    Man you are so lucky the exchange is practically in your garden.
