No, I'm not 1337 enough for the advanced features I use it as a simple file server / FTP / HTTP / gateway / Slim Server / UT server at the moment. I'm gonna take the time to learn about all the "proper" server features one day, I promise!

I'll set up DNS and a Domain one day as well. That's my next project.

    Isn't Microsoft's ISA server a seperate OS?

    Server - P4 3.8, 2GB DDR2, X800XT PE, Dual 160GB HDDs running Exchange 2003 and Windows 2003.

Ovislink WiFi around the house, and wired connections

Wired Gaming - XBOX and PS2 (with an AE700 bolted on for 10ft fun!)

Backup Box (Mirroring HEXUS and things) - P4 2.53, 1GB Ram, Dual 80GB Hard drives - running FreeBSD.

    Office PC - Shuttle SB77G5, P4 3.6, 1GB Ram, X800Pro(AGP), Plextor DVD/CDRW, Gigabyte WiFi Module - Dell 24" Widescreen, and Iiyama 18".

    Mac - Mini Mac - 1.42GHz, 512MB, Tiger, 80GB HDD, WiFi, BlueTooth, Superdrive - 19" Herc

    Laptop - X31 - IBM thingy - roaming

Spare PC - Dual Opteron zmaxdp - 2GB ram - and trimmings.

Pinnacle Showcentre on the TV streaming DiVX and stuff via WiFi

M2000 Phone sync'd via WiFi for email and contacts on the move.

I have a Pentium-M 2.13GHz /w 6200 AGP, 120GB HDD, all in the cellar - but the stupid silverstone chassis won't do it properly - so that is just waiting to be beaten.

I would use my Slimp3 but I can't be bothered

    Got enough gadgets there David?

Actually, would you expect any less from da Boss of Hexus?

If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

its not too tricky - but you have to remeber that it runs as a proxy , but can give you a lot of control over content etc.
it also offers some nice little web caching too.

The small business server features are good, I've started running it permamently on (system 1 - see earlier posts).

System 2 upgraded to 384megs of SD 100MHz! eases the XP load a bit

Also got a Acer Turion notebook now.

lol this is what mine looked like 2 years ago.

    http://gallery.pimprig.com/showphoto...00&ppuser=1845

Ran Win2K servers and clients, MSProxy, IIS5, SQL2000, had a domain controller and a web server on the DMZ, exchange 2000 and most fun of all windows media server. Now I have grown up a little and just run the webserver and a single client. I used to fold on 7 machines....it was very hot in the summer!

Currently in my house we have

2Mbit PLus.Net Internet coming through a Linksys ADSL Home Gateway WAG354G

Then 2 wireless access points dotted around the house, one Linksys WAP54G, one NetGear of which i can't remember the model.

Which gives 3 Wireless Access Points in G mode and a 4 port 10/100Mb Hub

We have 4 Computers and 6 Laptops, all wireless bar one of the computers which is now my main one with a 100Mb Link to the Gateway

Just revamped my network setup so figured I'd post it here.

    Pipex 1mb ADSL
Goes to Kcorp KLS-5810 ADSL Modem router with 54g wireless
Connected by cable to my PC (Ath 64 3000+, 1gb, 6600gt) and Xbox since it's in my room
Wireless using Sweex USB 54G wireless dongles to:
    Sisters PC (P4 2.6ghz, 512mb, Dell)
    Other sis PC (Identical)
    Family PC (P4 2.8ghz, 512mb, 9600SE)

    Works very well.

I also have a huge box full of networking equipment, with an 8 port switch, 8 port hub, 4 port router, about 50 cables ranging from 1m to 15m, and 10 or so cable joiners. I use all this stuff for Xbox LAN parties.
