Twice? 100% failure rate in 4 characters? OK, you can prove anything with statistics, but he was either in a hurry or intoxicated with something.

Re: Headlines - Intel's 2.66GHz Nehalem chip to target the mainstream at $284?
So, a nehalem chip for £200 in maybe October? You're making me want to put off my planned upgrade to a E8400. Mind you with 4gb DDR3 costing £250 and the first mobos costing maybe £150 thats a total of £600. I guess it will be best to put 3x2gb ddr3 on a nehalem board so I'm guessing £300 for that maybe. It might be worth waiting til 2009 for DDR3 prices to fall some and for any wrinkles to be ironed out. Maybe a £300 E8400 upgrade now isn't such a bad idea. *scratches head* hmmmm

Its good to see the entry level chips will be priced nicely, but still...I'm looking at the mid-range ones.
Or wait a year and get the big dog at a discount. ![]() |

This site reiterated a lot of what was said here, that it's going to cost a lot to get all the new components (Mobo, Ram, etc) so Nehalem will even start up. I read earlier this week that DDR3 prices are starting to decline, so that's one positive. |
