I agree with what you're saying but it the answer was the latter than something will need doing about making everyone re take a driving test when they renew their license......

I live in Scotland, we largely don't have motorways, but dual carriageways. I swear the amount of people that don't know that 70, not 60, is the limit for a car is huge. So you get the odd person who thinks it's their civic duty to slow down those naughty speeders doing 70, by sitting doing 60 or less to teach us a lesson :/
I have to say even on a good day, if you are on your own and aren't familar with the stretch of road slowing down to 50 in a 60 is pretty reasonable. I often feel that the councils hardly place signs in great locations. One nasty one is a reduction from 60 to 40 on the blind bit of a blind turn, that's just asking for trouble. It was a known accident black spot already, claiming the life of my high school friend's mother. |
