    I hurt...

    I hurt...

I ache in funny places like this point just here... or if I twist my leg like this...

I've got a bloody great welt on my hairline that was bleeding earlier.

If you run your hands up and down my shins it feels like the speed bumps of a particularly zealous traffic control system...

I've got a deep cut in one shin which opened up last night and I've had to steri-strip it closed this morning... after waking up, getting out of bed and not realising I had stuck to the sheets... (ever pulled a plaster off fast? It feels like that...)

My shoulder has gone a faint purple where it's taken a pounding against the door frame and I can't kneel on the floor without both knees feeling like I'm kneeling on bags of marbles.

But all in all, I hugely enjoyed myself, and I even resisted the temptation of have a go at the boss....

    Nick...

Jason's in the same boat fella. Walking like John Wayne and moaning about muscles he never knew could hurt.

I would have loved what you lads have done. Would have been like a trip down memory lane to when I went and trained with the Queen's Lancashire Regiment in Berlin all those years ago

    Neither were we.

We had all the standard issue that the equipment that the army was issued with. SA-80 or sometimes the LSW or even GPMG if I was lucky, webbing, ration packs, sleeping bags, boots, the works

I was nearly always the unfortunate bugger that had to carry the radio as well as I got lumbered with the com's everytime we did anything that involved going into the wilderness for a week at a time.

If Nick was put through anything of the things we had to do when we got "beasted" by what I can only call sadisitic ex-SAS fiends from hell that called themselves "PT Instructors", then he has my sympathy.

We were being given our training by none other than John MacAleese, the man himself... ex-SAS, on the IA team for the Iranian Embassy and one of the most down to earth and nicest blokes you'll ever wish to meet.

Happily, even shotarse me is taller than him... but I'm no way as hard as nails like this guy.

Anyway, we'll shortly be bringing you a whole new set of articles on the day... which was totally different to the previous Airsoft event... this was a full on training day with Sterling Services and it was bloody good!
