    Nintendo DS Memory card/adapter??

My sons got a DS, and i've found the small compartment for a memory card, i've been told you can get a memory card adapter which allows you to insert a smaller card like an sd card although not sure about other types like a duo.
Now i've been given a cd with a few games on it and was told that if i buy an adapter and maybe use my digi camera's sd memory stick i can put the games onto the memory stick and the ds will boot the games from that and away i go!, now how much of this is true and where can i get a memory adapter?
Ive looked on ebay but not really found much!!!

    thx for any answers.

    ...

I think you're talking about a Flash Cart which goes into slot 1, these can use smaller MicroSD cards to play ROMs and other homebrew stuff. R4 is the most popular, but CycloDS has a few more features for money and there's anothe rnewcomer coming with some fancy talk. Just don't get a DSX, it's overpriced and overhyped.

I won't provide links as I'm not sure onthe policies for linking to such things. And You're only meant to have ROMs of games you already own.

whoa hold the pirate comment there beanbag!

No i purely want to talk about it so i dont do anything illegal i want to access the net through wi-fi and download free legal demos onto the card and movies and music plus a few ebooks!
And it's homebrew games which are on the cd which my friend made! which ARE legal.

You are the one who mentioned pirate games!

However, legality is also called into question depending on what you want to do with the now homebrew-enabled software. You want to play some true homebrew apps, developed by bedroom programmers and distributed online as freeware? Sure, no problem – someone has made a game for you to play and is giving it away for free, so while the console maker may not like you fiddling with the amateur’s games instead of their official titles there isn’t actually anything they can do about it.
It’s weird then that the DS homebrew scene is still avoided by many, who fear that homebrew is blatantly illegal and tough to get working
I've got all the info i need now so thanks!

Go read the stickies before posting pls!
why? when piracy is very serious and was not mentioned here until you came into the conversation.
I know its a very grey area, but i'm keeping within the legal boundries.

Next time you post questions like this i sugest that you make it clear thats its homebrew. As almost all post's i've ever seen like this normally involve pirated software.

Steady. I'll admit beanbandit is just biting for fight by the looks of it, no need to go to his level gtech. Now if you're interested, check out some of the carts I talked about.

SDHC isn't really neccessary, there's no way you'd find enought o fill a CD, let alone more than 4Gb

Via my computer game software engineering uni course my friend (who had just finished his placement year for a company that does nintendo games) sent me a sample build of a program he had been running for a final year project to test on the ds, it worked fine VIA suopercard/moonshell, and moonshell is great for watching the odd music vid or song as im on the go as i dont like taking my psp with me and sometimes cant find my ipod

4gb is verging into SDHC and I know for a fact the wii does NOT support it, so no doubt the ds will either (depends on the slot loader though), 2gb is fine as his beta game weighed in at under 70mb

    gtech,

Ill be honest, Im not going to go into the content on the cards but this is the last official warning you will get and as I am the one given the responsibility for the community there won't be anymore.

Your reaction and the future postings to other members were unacceptable. The replies made to you were fully justified as you were not clear in your posting, but if you continue to disrespect members with your name calling and your editing comments then I will be perfectly honest, you need to find another community to join.

You came to this thread looking for help, because you were not clear the other members took the majority line on what most people would given the lack of original information provided. You then have no respect for those who have responded to your enquiry. Rightly or wrongly commenting.

Now final warning, no if's, no but's and don't PM me, this is as clear as its going to be. Play nice or play elsewhere.

    Matt

    Sometimes a little aint enough...
