Lost Winds - What a Bargin
Well the other night i was bored and i thought id spend some of my newly purchased wii points. I'd heard some good things about lost winds and thought I'd give it a go, i love platformers so i was looking forward to it.
It blew all my expectations out of the water. Its a beautiful and charming game that brought some new ideas i hadn't seen before. The use of the wiimote is excellent and it genuinely adds to the gameplay rather than being a total gimmick. The way you can just your little guy about and manipulate enemies is a joy, it truly puts most £30 - £40 to shame and highlights the total complacency of most developers and publishers. The only downfall is that it only lasts 3 hours or so, but when you find out the game is only 40 megs is understandable. If you have some wii points burning a hole in your pocket, dont buy that nes game you remember being awesome, buy Lost Winds you wont regret it. ![]() This is now my 3rd fave Wii game. |

Re: Lost Winds - What a Bargin
I'll 2nd that.
![]() I had loads of 'free' points from claiming my Wii Stars and was waiting for an excuse to spend them. It was a wonderful way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon, floating about of the wind. |

Re: Lost Winds - What a Bargin
Picked this up on the night that the Wii shop opened, and as said before, its fantastic. Its surprisingly good looking graphically, will liberal use of bloom etc, coupled with a decent art style, though not totally cartoony.
Gameplay is actually quite relaxing (accentuated by the soundtrack and sound effects, which are pretty decent IMO) and definitely worth the money. Quite rightly, they are already working on a sequel, though not sure about the due date for that. |

Re: Lost Winds - What a Bargin
I read an article on it a while back.
It sounds like Frontier are a really great company to work for as the game came from the staff just wanting to do soemthing a bit difference and David brabbem giving them the freedom to experiement. |
